Terms that i dont understand

Today, for the computer literacy class, Mr. Izaham asked us to find about terms that we dont understand in the slide he prepared for our lecture today. And then, we must post about them in the blog, so, here I am...Wohoooooooooooo.. First term that i dont understand is Word Processor.A word processor (more formally known as document preparation system) is a computer application used for the production (including composition, editing, formatting, and possibly printing) of any sort of printable material. Next is,mail merge. Mail merge means a software function describing the production of multiple (and potentially large numbers of) documents from a single template form and a structured data source. Mail merge can be categorized in the word processor. I also dont understand the term database software. From Wikipedia.com i found out that database software or also known as database management system(DBMS) is a complex set of software programs that controls the organization, storage, management, and retrieval of data in a database. Then, the term VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol). It means a protocol optimized for the transmission of voice through the Internet or other packet-switched networks. VoIP often used abstractly to refer to the actual transmission of voice I guess this is enuff. Wohooooooooo.... C ya next time..... Adios...............
